A shelter staff member writes: Meet Compton! A two year old lovebug! Compton was surrendered to us because he was not getting along well with the other dog in his family. Since being in the shelter, Compton has been respectful and polite when engaging with other dogs. Compton is a friendly guy looking for his forever home!
A volunteer writes: Like the city he's named after, Compton is physically a little rough around the edges. When I first met him, he was wearing an E-cone, a big gash on his left side at the top of his leg. He was underweight, his coat a bit shabby and all around sort of pathetic looking. But just like the famous California town, when you take a deeper look, there's something very charming about him. His face is wrinkled, giving him the appearance of always being worried, his brown eyes are bright and sparkling and his little body makes him perfect for an apartment or other smaller dwelling. Compton loves to play. He jumps and prances in the snow, and even takes a few bites out of it. He is a huge fan of squeaky toys and will toss them around by himself. And he's very loving too. When he saw a favorite staff member, he nearly jumped up into his arms, so happy to be loved and hugged on. He loves to be pet and will sit eagerly for a treat. Compton even seems to have some housetraining, nearly always having a clean kennel. You don't have to go across the country to experience the warmth of Compton, just come to the Brooklyn Care Center and ask to meet him today!
