Max is a bit aloof outside during his relief walk, but stood close to the handler and warmed up after a few minutes. He was similarly aloof when he entered the assessment room, but over the course of the assessment warmed up and by the end of the assessment was leaning in, playing and soliciting affection. Max tolerated all handling items of the assessment, although his body was a bit tense. He showed minimal interest in food, but played briefly with the toy and rawhide before relinquishing easily to the assessor. During the dog to dog item, Max approaches the helper dog with tense body, tail above spine level, ears forward, but when close he greeted the helper dog appropriately and lost interest. The behavior department recommends that Max go to a home with experienced adopters

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 07/02/xxxx from NY xxxx8, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

This dog is in danger of being on the euthanasia list and could be scheduled to be killed at any time!
